HS Baseball: Wood-Ridge and Hasbrouck Heights Place 7 Each on All Meadowlands Teams - Wood-Ridge's Carcich is named Coach of Year

SECAUCUS, NJ – Wood-Ridge, the NJIC Meadowlands Division champion, placed seven players on the All Meadowlands Team, and Head Coach Michael Carcich was named Coach of the Year, it was announced last week. The Blue Devils finished 16-11 on the season.

Hasbrouck Heights, who finished 11-11-1, also placed seven players on the All Meadowlands Team.

Leading the way for Wood-Ridge on the First Team were outfielder Salvatore Catanzaro, first baseman Jake Wall and At Large Selection Michael Marchitelli. Catanzaro and Matchitelli were both seniors, while Wall is a sophomore.

nfielder Jack Caprio was selected to the Second Team along with At-Large selections Lucas Mendoza and Jacob Metcalfe. Caprio and Metcalfe were freshmen, while Mendoza was a sophomore. Sophomore Nick Scalera was granted Honorable Mention status.

Hasbrouck Heights junior pitcher Damon Rivera was a First Team selection. He was joined by At Large selections senior Rocco D’Amico and junior Ethan Perez.

The Aviators Second Team selections were At Large Selections Andy Victori (sophomore), Dom Aiosa (senior) and Ron Menne (freshman.)

Junior Mario Jimenez was granted Honorable Mention status.
