WOOD-RIDGE, NJ - The Wood-Ridge Board of Eduction honored two seniors and two elementary students for their achievements at the June meeting.

Superintendent of Schools Anthony Albro recognized seniors Devin Milne and Klyd Thomas Jet Empuerto. They both served as Student Board Representatives for the 2024-25 school year. One of the two would  attend board meetings and provide news and updates from the student perspective.

Albro explained that the state had enacted a law requiring each school district to appoint a high school senior to its board.

“I think the Board will agree with me that we have learned a great deal from these reports each month,” he added.

He presented each student with a resolution honoring their time, service, and commitment.

Albro also honored two Wood-Ridge Intermediate School students for having their artwork accepted by the “My Bergen County Calendar Art Contest”, run by the Bergen County Clerk, John Hogan.

Fifth grader Daniel Farley had his submission accepted in 2024 and was the featured artwork for March 2025.  Fourth grader Mihika Dutta's submission was accepted in the 2025 contest and is eligible to be included in the 2026 county calendar.
