I provide Speech and Language services to students in grades 4 through 12. Sessions can be performed in individual and small-group pull-out settings, as well as in the classroom. I have experience working with children, adolescents, and adults with articulation, expressive and receptive language, voice, fluency, and feeding/swallowing disorders.
The Role of the School-Based SLP include:
Identification and monitoring of students at risk for communication disorders
Conduction of comprehensive assessments
Development and implementation of IEPs
Case management of students with 'Eligible for Speech and Language Services' classification
Collaboration with families, students, classroom teachers, and other school professionals
Areas Addressed by School SLP's include:
Articulation and Phonology disorders (eg: substituting, omitting, or distorting sounds in words)
Fluency/Stuttering disorders
Receptive Language disorders (understanding language)
Expressive Language disorders (using language)
Voice disorders (eg: monotonous pitch, harsh or nasal quality),
Pragmatic Language (eg: social interactions)
Non-Verbal Communication (eg: AAC devices)
Feeding/Swallowing Disorders in the School Setting
