• Summer Math & ELA/Reading Assignments for each grade
     
    Please refer to your grade level that you will be entering in September to view your assignment.  Then reference the Suggested Titles for Summer Reading Assignment link under the All Grade Levels Section.
     
     
    Grade 4  
     
    The English Language Arts (ELA) portion of the summer assignment requires students to read one (within their Lexile range) book that encompasses the theme of the 50th Anniversary of Apollo 11.  Students are required to complete ONE assignment.  The assignment is at the below Reading Assignment link and is due by Monday, 09/9/2019.  See below Reading Assignment link for details.
     
    Grade 5
     
    For the English Language Arts (ELA) portion, students will read one book within their Lexile range, within the theme of the 50th Anniversary of Apollo 11.  Students are to keep a reading log on the book that includes: title, author, genre, dates read, and a 3-5 sentence summary of what they have read for each log entry date, including the central idea and details. This log can be written or typed. The log will be collected by the ELA teacher.  In September, students will be given one writing prompt to answer in response to a book they have read. Students should be prepared to type a written response in school. This written response, along with the log, will be scored with a rubric and counted as one test grade for the 1st marking period.
     
    Grade 6

    If you would like to read a book that is not contained on the approved summer reading list for your grade level, please click the following link for more information and a form to make this request.  Please note that although, you may request to read off of the list, you must still read within the indicated theme.

     Summer Math Assignments for each grade

    The Mathematics portion of the summer assignment will be completed online through the program Imagine Math, formerly known as Think Through Math.  Imagine Math is an online tool that the students are familiar with and have already been exposed to in the third through fifth grades.  Imagine Math can be accessed at the following website:

     
    Login and password information along with details regarding the assignments usage as an assessment(s) during the 2019-2020 school year can be found in the letter that was distributed to students in June.  Please contact the main office if you are unable to log in.
