    Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. - The Pearl Scholarship is offered to Bergen County residents of African-American descent. All applicants must be graduating high school seniors, and must be available for an interview by Scholarship Committee.     New Jersey Schoolwomen's Club Scholarships Available for Future Teachers - The New Jersey Schoolwomen's Club Scholarships are available to female NJ high school seniors who are planning to complete a professional program leading to a degree and certification in the filed of education. The Jeannette Hodge, Mary Ann Giovannini, and Patricia Barber memorial scholarships, each in the amount of $500 and three educational awards, also in the amount of $500 will be awarded for academic achievement. Involvement in extra-curricular and community service activities will be considered. Applications are available from the Guidance Office.
     
    The Council of Irish Associations of Greater Bergen County, Inc - The Council of Irish Associations of Greater Bergen County, Inc. announces the 2021 Kevin J. Duffy Memorial Scholarship essay contest. Each year, Council awards a scholarship of a thousand dollars to the winner and five hundred dollars to the second-place winner. Open to all graduating high school seniors in Bergen County planning to attend an institution of higher learning, the essay contest is for the purpose of promoting awareness and knowledge of Irish and Irish-American culture. Three topics in Irish and Irish-American studies are provided. The applicant selects one topic for the essay. The winner will receive a thousand dollar scholarship, and the second-place winner will receive a five hundred dollar scholarship. The panel of judges is composed of educators and members of the Council. Essay winners are encouraged to participate, if possible, in the Council’s annual Great Hunger Commemoration at the Bergen County Courthouse, attending the event to accept their scholarships and read their essays. In light of COVID-19 restrictions, the Great Hunger Commemoration is tentatively scheduled for the first or second Saturday of May, and may be an all-virtual event. If there are any questions, please email: EssayContest@BergenCountyIrish.org
     
    Disabled American Veterans Dept. of NJ - The DAV will be awarding (6) $1,500 scholarships to graduating high school seniors for post high school education. The applicant must be a New Jersey resident and must be a natural or adopted descendant of a member of the Disabled American Veterans Dept of NJ. Applications are available in the Guidance Office.
