  • WOOD-RIDGE PRE-SCHOOL REGISTRATION 2021-2022

     

    The Wood-Ridge Board of Education is pleased to accept registration for a tuition based Pre-School Integrated Instructional program for the 2021/2022 school year.  The tuition based Pre-School program will be open to Wood-Ridge residents and School District Employees only and will provide a complete educational program that is offered to all other students in the Wood-Ridge School District.  The program will be housed in the Catherine E. Doyle School and will consist of the following classes:

     

    2-Full Day Integrated Program Classrooms (Age 4 by October 1, 2021)

    1. 8:15 AM – 2:50 PM Daily
    2. $6,000 yearly tuition (10 months at $600 per month)
    3. 28 seats tuition based seats will be offered

     

    There will be no Pre K-3 year old program offered at the Catherine E. Doyle School during the 2021-2022 school year. 

     

    Registration for the 2021/2022 Pre-School classes will be held differently as compared to the past at the Catherine E. Doyle School: 

    • The initial stage of registration will take place from Friday, February 12, 2021 through Friday, February 26, 2021.
    • In this stage, all interested families need to contact Mrs. Denise Tiesi in the Doyle School Main Office (201-468-5632 or dtiesi@wood-ridgeschools.org)
    • The following information must be shared with Mrs. Tiesi in order to place your child on an eligibility list to determine possible placement in the program:
      • Child’s name and contact information
      • The names and grade levels of any other siblings that will be enrolled in the Wood-Ridge Public School District during the 2021-2022 school year.
      • A COPY of the child’s ORIGINAL birth certificate. Child must reach age 4 by October 1, 2021- No exceptions
      • Proof of Residency within the Borough of Wood-Ridge (Gas/Electric Bill, Mortgage Statement, Lease/Rental Agreement, or Landline Phone Bill. You must be a resident of Wood-Ridge, at the time of registration, in order to be eligible for a tuition based seat in the program.
    • At the close of the initial stage of registration, all submitted information will be reviewed, and all registrants will be contacted, by Tuesday, March 2, 2021, to confirm the following:
      • The child’s placement on the initial eligibility list
      • If the initial eligibility list were to exceed the capacity of the Pre K program (28 seats), details will be shared concerning a lottery to determine enrollment in the program.
      • Please note that the capacity of the Pre K program enrollment is subject to change prior to the determination of the awarding of seats in the program.
      • Any family who places their name on the initial eligibility list, after Friday, February 26, 2021, will be placed on a waiting list.

  • Kindergarten Registration 2021-2022 School Year

    Please contact Mrs. Tiesi via email at dtiesi@wood-ridgeschools.org to register your child for the 2021-2022 school year.  Your child will be eligible if he/she is turning age 5 on or before October 1, 2021 only.  THERE ARE NO EXCEPTIONS TO THIS POLICY.

    Please complete the required registration forms listed below and submit them back via email at dtiesi@wood-ridgeschools.org along with the required documents:

    • Copy of original birth certificate
    • Updated Immunization Records
    • Two forms of proof of residency documents:which consist of: 

    1. Lease agreement(renters)/Deed, mortgage statement , or tax bill(owners)(MANDATORY)

    2. Utility bill, bank statement, driver's license(proof of ID)

    If you are new to the Borough of Wood-Ridge or you wish to transfer your child into the Doyle School during this Pandemic, please email Mr. Albro at talbro@wood-ridgeschools.org. You must also complete the required registration forms below and email to Mrs. Tiesi at dtiesi@wood-ridgeschools.org along with the following documents:

      February at Doyle School (2020-2021 School Year)

    • The Group 1 students attend on Mondays and Wednesdays.  The Group 2 students attend on Tuesdays and Thursdays.  During the month of February, the Friday rotation will be as follows:  2/19/21- Group 1, 2/26/21- Group 2.
    • Parents/Guardian are reminded that any existing parental custody orders/restraining orders need to be shared with the Doyle School Main Off
    • Any changes in home address or related contact information must be shared with the Doyle School Main Office, as soon as possble

    Little Bites Recycling Activity

     
    The Wood-Ridge Public Education Foundation is sponsoring a recycling activity involving Entenmann's Little Bites wrappers.  We have a collection box in our All Purpose Room.  These wrappers can be brought in from home and placed in our containers.  The collection of wrappers help to accumulate points in a recycling contest that could provide materials/supplies for the Doyle School.
     
     
     Inclement Weather Information
     
    In the event of inclement weather, any announcement concerning a school closing, delayed opening, or early dismissal will be made via a Reverse 911 call/electronic communication with our Real Time Data Management System.  In addition, similar notifications will be shared with the following media outlets:
     
    • News 12 NJ
    • WNBC
    • WCBS
    • WINS Radio
    • Fox 5 NY
    • FIOS 1
    • WABC TV
    Please do not contact the Wood-Ridge Police or Fire Departments for information concerning school closing.  A message will be placed on the school district web page as well.
      

     
     Important Notice 
     
    Please be sure to label your child's outer clothing, water bottles, lunch bags, etc.  In addition, please be sure that any lunch money sent in to school is in an envelope that clearly states your child's name and class!
     
     
    Important Safety Announcement- Please be reminded that people who park on Wood-Ridge Avenue during Drop Off hours should use the crossing guards at the corners of 10th and 12th Street.  PLEASE DO NOT CROSS WOOD-RIDGE AVENUE IN ANY AREA BESIDES THE CROSS WALKS! 
     
     
    Important Safety Announcement
     
    Effective as of 9/21/16, parents/guardians will not be permitted to enter the school with their children.  Any parent/guardian who wishes to enter the school must report to the Main Office via the Main Entrance.  Staff members have been instructed to not permit adults to enter the building at any time.  Birthday party treats, forgotten homework/lunch, etc. must all be brought to the Main Office via the Main Entrance of the Doyle School. All visitors to our school must be prepared to show a form of identification upon entering. 
     
    8AM- All doors will be opened and students will be permitted to walk to classroom door.

    2nd grade students are asked to enter the school at the Highland Avenue Entrance
    Pre K and Kindergarten students are asked to enter at the Kindergarten Wing Entrance (corner of Wood-Ridge Avenue and 12th St)
    Grade 1 and 3 students are asked to enter at the Main Entrance (Wood-Ridge Avenue) 
     
    School Exit Doors at Dismissal
     
    Pre K students will exit from Room 7 (Mrs. Rightmyer).
    Kindergarten students will exit from the Kindergarten Wing door (corner of Wood-Ridge Avenue and 12th Street).
    Grade 1 students (Mrs. Jupinka and Mrs. Schwartz) will exit from the Room 15 classroom exit (Mrs. Schwartz) on 12th Street.
    Grade 1 students (Mrs. Neumuller/Gomez) will exit from the Main Entrance door.
    Grade 1 students (Ms. Cortina) will exit from the Highland Avenue door.
    Grade 2 students will exit from the Highland Avenue door.
    Grade 3 students will exit from the Main Entrance door. 
     
    Please be reminded that any changes in address/contact information need to be reported to the Doyle School Main Office as soon as possible!

    General Reminders:
    Parking lots are for STAFF USE ONLY from 7:00AM- 3:30PM.  Before Care doors open at 7:00AM- Students must be accompanied by their parents/guardians and enter via the Main Entrance only from 7:00-8:00AM daily. Before Care participant families may not park in the school parking lots at drop off.
     
    All other families not utilizing the Before Care Program should please utilize the "Drop Off Zones" when bringing students to school in the morning and remember that parking and leaving your vehicle during the morning is not permitted. All entrance doors are opened at 8:00AM and students proceed directly to their classroom doors.All students arriving after 8:15AM must enter via the Main Entrance.
