Welcome to the Wood-Ridge District

  • Dear Wood-Ridge Community Members,

I hope this latest communication finds you and your family well and in good health. Several weeks ago I announced that our schools would be closed for a minimum of two weeks due to the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic. In Governor Murphy’s press conference on Monday, March 23rd, he announced that New Jersey schools would be closed for a "long and extended period of time.” At this point, our staff will continue to prepare our Distance Learning Plan for our students for an additional period of time. We plan on following our school calendar unless told otherwise by the New Jersey Department of Education and/or State of New Jersey. Currently, our school calendar includes a Spring Recess from April 10th through April 17th for staff and students.

The Governor has also announced that state testing has been canceled for this school year. The United States Department of Education has approved the state’s waiver to suspend testing. Also, information regarding Advanced Placement Tests and Scholastic Achievement Tests will be sent from the High School as it is received from the College Board.

We greatly appreciate your cooperation in making the best out of a difficult situation. I would like to commend our entire staff for doing an excellent job in setting up our Distance Learning Plan for our students, and also our students for the patience they have displayed for the past two weeks. We will continue to keep you informed of changes in this evolving situation.

Please visit the District website regularly for updates, as well as our Meal Plan distribution information which is listed below. If you have any technical issues or have any instructional needs please submit the online form that is on the right side of our website.

We wish you and your families the best of health, and we thank you for your cooperation in advance.

    Sincerely,

    Nicholas Cipriano

    Superintendent of Schools
