Welcome to the Wood-Ridge District

  • Dear Wood-Ridge Community Members,

I hope this memo finds you and your loved ones well. Our administrators, faculty and staff continue to work on distant learning alternatives as well as virtual ceremonies, such as Graduation Ceremony, Senior Awards Ceremony, Pre-K and our sixth- grade promotions. Currently, the governmental directives are consistent with plans we have been making for the end of the year celebrations in regard to safety guidelines. We have been working on alternatives to our traditional ceremonies as well as discussing an additional in-person summer graduation ceremony for our seniors, if restrictions are lifted. The school administrators will provide the information about all of these activities by early next week.

We have also been discussing summer programs and a reopening plan for September so that we can be prepared once the state allows us to return to a traditional educational institution. We are working on procedures for our staff and students to return to their schools to pick up personal items as well as return school equipment and materials. Within the next several weeks our school administrators will communicate the details to their staff and students.

There is no question this crisis has changed all our lives, as we knew it. I know how frustrating these changes have been on our community, but I also know that what will get us through this is to support and care for one another. With this isolation period we have the opportunity to learn new things and enjoy things we did not have time for. We have spent more time with our loved ones more then our normal days would have allowed. We have cared for others more than ever and expressed compassion for those less fortunate. Once we overcome this ever so challenging time we will be a better and stronger community.

    Best wishes,

    Nicholas Cipriano
    Superintendent of Schools

**ALL Wood-Ridge and Moonachie HS students can pick up grab and go multiple day lunch meals on Mondays and Thursdays ONLY at the Wood-Ridge Intermediate School (151 1st St.) parking lot from 11am - 1pm.
