Welcome to the Wood-Ridge District

  • Dear Wood-Ridge Community Members,

I hope this communication finds you and your family well and in good health. I would like to thank you for your cooperation during this difficult time. These are unprecedented times with many of us being affected, directly or indirectly, by this public health crisis. Despite the negative, we have adapted to the situation, and for every terrible story we see or hear, people being kind and helping each other inspires us. I am so appreciative of the entire school community who has come together quickly and efficiently and put a program in place that provides our students with a solid educational program. The students, parents, teachers, and staff have all distinguished themselves by their actions, attitude, and professionalism. I could not be prouder of the Wood-Ridge community.

Starting on Friday, April 10th through Friday, April 17th, the district will have Spring Break. Classes will resume on Monday, April 20th. Distance Learning will continue until Governor Murphy makes a decision, expected to be announced on April 17th, about our state’s plan for reopening the schools. The District is preparing to develop contingency plans for whichever decision the Governor’s office deems necessary for the safety of our children. I could not be prouder of our entire staff for making this transition as smooth as possible. As we move forward in this process, we will continue to look for your patience and support.

During Spring Break, the week of April 10th, School meals, Grab and Go Lunches, will be available Monday 4/13/20 and Thursday 4/16/20. ALL Wood-Ridge and Moonachie HS students can pick up grab and go multiple day lunch meals on Mondays and Thursdays ONLY at the Wood-Ridge Intermediate School (151 1st St.) parking lot from 11am - 1pm.

Please find time to relax, reflect, and take a break from academics. Stay well, be safe, and adhere to all mandated health issued guidelines.

    Best wishes,
    Nicholas Cipriano
    Superintendent of Schools
